If you've stumbled across this page, well then...welcome to my blog :) Mostly this blog is a collection of photos that I have fell in love with as I've learned more and more about photography.
I was sucked into the world of photography in college when I took a film class and got to spend oodles of time in the dark room. About a year and a half ago, I bought my digital camera and have continued through the journey of photography with feelings of love, hate, frustration, and down right close to giving up when it seemed like I couldn't get a shot to work if my life depended on it.
While shooting those thousands of photographs, every once and a while I feel like I get lucky.
I hope you enjoy looking through some of my favorite memories, and if you have something to share feel free to leave a comment :) Any tips or tricks in this fun, addicting hobby are surely welcome!!

I have got in sooo much practice shooting my sister's kids. It's a win win situation really...she gets photos of her kids, and I get the practice and experience! Not to mention sometime to work on my patience lol. These little boys are ALWAYS up to something, into something, and discovering new and wonderous things. Going places they shouldn't, getting into things you don't want them to, and of course loving every minute of it. How can you really get upset at them when they look up at you with those big wonderous eyes, toothy grin, and excitment that only a child can find :)

The Grand Tetons...or at least the part that wasn't covered in fog that day :) Last May for Memorial weekend (I know, this doesn't look like a photo taken in May at all!!) we traveled up to Yellowstone National Park for the weekend. It was a blast! Even though more often than not it was cold and snowy it was still a great trip. I got to spend sometime with some of my family that I don't get to see as much as I would like to anymore.
We stayed in a condo, and tried our hardest not to drive each other nuts in the small space for the week. We traveled all over the park, seeing everything we could take in. From buffalo, elk, deer, a coyote...or an iotee as my three year old nephew Andy would say... and even a few bears! To some truely beautiful landscapes. We chose to go in May in hopes of seeing some of the new baby animals, and despite the snow we got lucky! We saw loads of little baby buffalo, and a few rare baby black bear cubs with their mama.
When it was time to go home, we decided to go by way of the Grand Tetons, and Jackson Hole, Wyoming. It extend the trip by a few hours, but it was well worth it. I'm sure my brother, his wife, and my sister were past the point of being sick of traveling with me because of all the stops I made us take just to get a shot or two with my camera. This one made it all worth the sighs of irritation :) When we came in view of the Tetons, with the yellow grass field, the snow capped mountains and the heavy fog there was just no way I was going to pass up getting a shot of it.

Salt Lake City in the winter time. Is there a more beautiful place to be in that city than on Temple square at night? As much as I hate the cold, I love Christmas time and how beautiful everything looks dressed in lights at night. We wandered around temple square until our fingers were frozen and our noses felt like they were about to fall off :) None the less it was beautiful!

This was more of a learning experience for me than anything, and lucky for me I happened to get a few shots that I really really liked! Vinny was sooo good considering we stripped him down to his diaper to get a few photos. I loved how the brown blanket with the wooly texture looks against his pail little skin, and how the white background showed his headful of dark hair.

I had so much fun shooting these photos of one of my co-workers little girl! We just played outside on the swing set and in the yard. She was sooo good considering how cold it was that day! I was kinda worried I wouldn't get any shots to turn out that looked good. I tend to always shoot a ton of photos, that way I know at least a few will turn out lol. Either way,
We got a few that turned out way cute! I guess it helps that she was such a little doll!

Jill was my very first series for actual pay! I had a lot of fun shooting her photos, and I learned I am seriously lacking in knowing how to directing a subject in posing. I loved how these turned out. She was a bit shy about doing the ones in front of the red door, because the red door happened to be on the side of the highway lol. But I talked her into it and those turned out to be some of my very favorite shots of her. She's such a beautiful girl it was easy to get some great shots.
